There are lots of little thing you can do during and between windows cleans to help ensure cleaner windows and a brighter home. Today we’re going to go over a few of the simple ways to help maintain cleaner, shining windows.
These tips are supplementary to full cleaning and should not be used to replace proper cleaning.
DUST
Dust is one thing you may not think effects your windows, but a build up of dust can be the perfect footing for other dirt to gather. Dust will build on the surface of the glass but mostly in the corners, its important to regularly dust your windows with a standard brush to help avoid this build up.
INITIAL WASH
While you will want to use window cleaner for the full clean, occasional quick washes with soapy water and a soft sponge can help keep the windows shining between major cleans. Remember tho, the less suds the better for the wash.
REMOVE WATER
Water, if left on your windows can be a breeding ground for mould and other dirt, its essential that after a clean you remove all the water. After all cleaning processes you should used a damp cloth so wipe as much moisture as you can and then finish off with a dry cloth.
HOMEMADE CLEANING SOLUTION
While commercial solutions are designed specifically for that purpose, the can often be damaging if used too much. You can combat this by making your own solutions and alternating. Mixing two tablespoons of vinegar into a bucket of warm water creates this solution.
TOUGH HOMEMADE SOLUTIOIN
For more stubborn or stained windows, a combination of pure ethanol and apple cider vinegar forms a tough and hard-working solution.
BLACKBOARD ERASERS
Clean and now obsolete blackboard erasers can be repurposed as window wipers, the clean and soft bristles will give a unique and surprisingly brilliant shine.
TOOLS
If you want to go the extra mile then you can invest with a larger range of specific tools. Whilst considerably costlier than the homemade methods, they will do the job and are made to last.
